Jihan is... sacrifice.

Jihan, the Arabic name given to the beautiful saffron flower, is symbolic of joy, youth and rejoicing. The flower appears at the first sign of spring. The Jihan flower can be found in white, purple and yellow. The purple Jihan is the most valued, and reflects pride, dignity and success.

But it is the sacrificial aspect of Jihan that has captivated people for centuries: giving up something beautiful and valuable for the sake of something else. The Jihan flower is sacrificed to give the famous threads used around the world in cooking: saffron, one of the most expensive spices in the world.

""When we were creating our signature fragrance Jihan, working with Drom perfumer Valerie Garnuch-Mentzel, I was transported back to my early days admiring my mother's culinary skills in the kitchen. I especially remember the cabinet that used to contain the small sacred jar of saffron... I always felt as if the jar contained a pinch of magic, a pretty pot that housed the rich red threads. I watched in amazement as my mother infused the aromatic rose water with saffron, and stood in awe as the saffron soaked in and the water turned a dynamic reddish/yellow hue."" Moe Khalaf (Founder and Creative Officer of Kajal).

This is Jihan's fragrance: it opens with a unique combination of saffron and apple blossom that seduces the senses. But like the characteristic of the Jihan flower, wealth is sacrificed for something greater. The seductive emotion is infused with heart notes of clove, magnolia and rose that gently calm the user. The generosity of the fragrance is deeply felt: rich and generous. At the base, beautiful vanilla, oud, musk and sandalwood touched with patchouli give integrity to the fragrance and round it off perfectly.
